Discover /Vajra Dance
The Vajra Dance is meditation in movement.
The simple, slow and fluid movements of the Vajra Dance relax the body, clear the mind, and relieve the tensions of our daily life. Through dancing we activate and coordinate specific energy points in our body according to an ancient knowledge of channels and chakras. In this way the Vajra Dance dissolves energy blocks, harmonizes the three main aspects of our being – body, energy and mind – and develops presence and awareness… If one has a more profound knowledge of the meaning of the Dance, it becomes a method for integrating the three existences of body, voice and mind into the knowledge of the state of contemplation. This integration is one of the most important aims of a Dzogchen practitioner. Since 1991 Chögyal Namkhai Norbu has taught four different Vajra Dances which can be practiced separately or combined together. Since 2011 the Dance of the Vajra has been associated with the CID, the International Dance Council, founded in 1973 by UNESCO. |
